Being a Writer
On Why Being a Writer is Neither Glamorous nor Exciting
If you watch the blogs and various sites around the internet about writing, you've probably seen at least one list that details a few universal truths about writers, but they all pretty much boil down to several actual truths.
All writers write.
All writers procrastinate.
Writers don't actually write, because we spend all our time doing something else.
This probably explains why, in the dark hours of one of the very last days of NaNoWriMo, I'm sitting here writing this, when my NaNo is sitting in another window with a pathetic 31.8k words.
Will I finish by 11:59pm tomorrow? Probabl

Characterization and Nomenclature:
What's in a name?

EDIT 6/24/12: Looking for help with book publishing? Check out my companion guide, An Idiot's Guide to Book Publishing.
I've been wanting to write this for a long time, but now that I'm on summer break I've finally had time to do it!
This is meant to be a companion of sorts to my Publishing Resources Journal; since I can't embed links into the text, I refer to the Journal a couple of times and point to a few resources that will be particularly handy during the submission process.
I hope you all find this helpful! Let me know if I can improve on the organization or add anything that could also be elucidating.
